Speakers announced for the ODOT 3rd Annual Civil Rights Transportation Symposium

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Division of Opportunity Diversity and Inclusion in partnership with Women in Transportation Seminar (WTS – Columbus) and Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO – Columbus)  is excited to host the 3rd Annual Civil Rights Transportation Symposium April 9th and 10th in Columbus.

The April 9th keynote speaker Adrienne Trimble President and CEO of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). Mrs. Trimble is the newly appointed President and CEO of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). She is honored to be taking on the leadership role with NMSDC and looks forward to ensuring the organization and stakeholders remain positioned for sustainable growth and success.

Adrienne Trimble was General Manager, Diversity & Inclusion at Toyota Motor North America, responsible for leading and executing diversity & inclusion strategies and initiatives across Toyota’s North American operations.

A graduate of Wilberforce University, Ms. Trimble earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Organization Management. She was appointed to the Board of Trustees for her alma mater in 2014. Read Mrs. Trimble’s complete bio here: Trimble Bio

April 10th keynote speaker Albert Shen Senior Advisor for the Toyota Mobility Foundation.  Previously, he was a Senior Advisor in Advanced Technology and Research at Toyota North America in Plano, TX where he was developing next generation mobility strategies on transportation innovation and to integrate new mobility technologies with federal, state & local governmental transportation Smart City initiatives.  

In 2014, he was appointed by President Obama to be the National Deputy Director of the U.S Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency.  His role was to create U.S. jobs by developing federal polices; new impact investment models and other new business innovation initiatives that promote the growth and global competitiveness of businesses owned and operated by minority and immigrant business owners.
